Please note that unlike the footcontrollers and expanders offered by other companies, the FX1 does NOT require an expander to be connected in order for it to transmit the MIDI data associated with the expander's instant access switches when a preset is selected. So to recap, if you disconnect the expander or never connect one at all, the FX1 will continue to transmit the MIDI messages associated with the expander whenever a preset is selected.
